Travel Visa

Delegates of most nationalities will require travel visas to enter India for the Conference. The Government of India issues entry-visas through Indian embassies and consulates in-person, as well as through outsourcing companies in some countries which process online visa applications.

FES has notified the relevant Government of India ministries of the IASC 2011 Conference to be hosted in Hyderabad, India. Delegates have the option of applying for either Tourist or Conference Visas for the purpose of attending the IASC 2011 Conference. A Conference Visa would be valid only during the period of the Conference, whereas Tourist Visas may permit delegates multiple entries to India. The visa fee may vary by type. Delegates will need to assess the suitability of visa types based on their travel arrangements.

Delegates are encouraged to allow between three and six months (depending on country of origin-see bilateral visa policies by country) for visa applications to be processed. Delegates applying for passports at the same time should allow for longer processing-time. Note: IASC 2011 Travel Grant Notifications are to be issued by the end of July 2010, accounting for the time required for delegates to obtain their travel documentations.

Because the application procedures and the visa fee amounts vary by country of origin for delegates, all delegates are encouraged to consult the following websites for more information on how to apply for visas to India from their home countries:
